I have to do all of that work in the BaB offices, which they so eloquently call BQ (you can guess what that stands for). BQ is a labyrinth of office space and employees, as well as dogs. Yeah, dogs. I'm not sure what's going on, but everyone has been bringing their dogs into the offices. So, as I go through, I have to step over makeshift barriers to contain curious critters who like to float around and make the occasional mess. Not a mess like pooping but they'll start chewing on stuff. I think I might have seen the remains of a bear on the floor today. It was an eerily sad sight. Anyway, working in the BaB creative rooms has been pretty cool because I get to mingle with other designers and see what they're doing for their signage and whatnot. BaB has well over 300 stores in the US and more worldwide, so it is pretty cool seeing that level of work.
(Note: I'll spare you the internal names for all things that I reference. Usually, since RZ is pretty heavily associated with the use of the letter "Z," everything that ends in an "s" is subsequently spelled with a "z")
In other news, today I was given my big assignment, the one that will define my internship. I'm not sure how much I can share, but just ask me and I'll tell you about it. It's a pretty big project, and BP specifically put me in charge of designing it. Sweet! Now something I can actually call my own and put in my portfolio. Just what I was looking for. Of course, I'm pretty excited and pretty nervous at the same time. I'm sure it'll work out well.
Today after work I ran into The Galleria while looking for a Best Buy. I didn't ever make it to Best Buy, but I did find what I was looking for in The Galleria. Turns out it's only about 5 miles away. So that's two really good malls within 5 miles of where I am. Not bad.
Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get out and see something around here. I feel like I'm missing out on some excellent shooting. I haven't shot anything since that first weekend I was here and I'm anxious to just pick up the camera. I mean, it's a new camera and I barely have 1,000 shots on the meter. Lame.
That's all for now
