Weddings and whatnot

Well, last week was a really busy week as far as shooting goes. I shot five or so different assignments, ranging from a flight in one of OU Aviation's airplaces to a photo illustration about being gay on campus. We had a big deadline last Friday, so everything was shot as quickly as possible.

After the deadline I had a big fat assignment on my hands, one that I had been nervous about for many weeks. I had to shoot a wedding (my first wedding). I usually turn down wedding offers simply because I am intimidated with the idea of being in charge of something so important and special to specific people, not to mention being hired out for my photographic services. It's the whole premise of if I mess up, all the blood is on my hands (yes, that is an over-dramatization, but appropriate in tone). It just seems like it's opposite of why I shoot. I just like to shoot, and an obligation like a wedding (something other than photojournalism) was hard for me to wrap my head around.

Anyway, I'm too lazy to get into too much detail with everything, so here are some of my wedding photos.

Note: My online photo upload service seems to tweak the image a bit during upload. The contrast on all the photos is conservative compared to how they are edited, so they come out a bit flat. The edited images are more contrasty.

Emilly and family get ready in the bathroom. It was a bit awkward shooting in there since it was a working women's bathroom and my face was the last thing women wanted to see when they opened the door.

Pictures from other assignments from the past week will come later.
