After what seemed like about five to ten minutes, I am leaving the Sports desk and going to the A section on Monday. I've come to enjoy the work I've done at Sports. I got to do the section front four or five times and got used to the workflow. I hope the A section isn't too much different, although it is a hell of a lot larger.
I also got paid today. Taxes sure take a large bite out.
On another note, I'd like to update you on my time between working. I finally ventured out and did touristy things on my "weekend." I went to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and the Portrait Gallery. I have to say that the National Portrait Gallery was really interesting, more interesting than the Natural History Museum. At the portrait gallery I saw all the classic painted portraits that we've probably all seen in history books. The portrait of George Washington pointing in the distance, the profile of Abraham Lincoln that inspired the image seen on the penny, etc.

Here is the Lansdowne portrait by Gilbert Stuart. This portrait looked something like ten feet tall. It was pretty huge. That's what she said.

Portrait of actor Jack Nicholson by photographer Mark Schoeller. The reproduction was about 6ft x 6ft.

So was this portrait of President Obama. They prints were huge! I'd never seen so much detail in someone's face.
So yeah, the portrait gallery was pretty interesting.
Also interesting was the price of lunch at the Portrait Gallery. I got a sandwich and a Vitamin Water for $14. Holy crap, what a rip.
Other than my outing I've been watching NBC's NewsRadio on hulu. NewsRadio was a sitcom from the mid to late 90s for all of you who might not remember.

The cast included the late Phil Hartman, Andy Dick (before he became famous for being a real dick) and Maura Tierney before her more famous role on E.R. I enjoyed this show as a child so the hulu reruns have been quite nice. Also, there happens to be something like 40 episodes ranging four season on hulu, which is rare because most shows that are still running only have five or so episodes at any time online. So, that has been quite a treat.
That's about it for now. I'll let you know how the A section goes on Monday. Happy weekend to the rest of you. I'll be working haha
